Expert Talk: VLSI design,

Student of 7th Semester, EC has learnt “VLSI Design” as a subject in their academic curriculum. Hence it is necessary for them to be aware of the current technology and to acquire the knowledge of the tools currently used for “VLSI Design” in the industries.
It is our great pleasure that Electronics & Communication dept. has organized an expert talk based on the topic “VLSI design” by Mrs. Hiral Shah.
Mrs. Hiral Shah has done Masters in Electronics and communication Engineering from Gujarat Technological University in year 2011. She worked for two years as a physical design engineer in e-Infochips, Ahmedabad. She also worked as a lecturer in EC dept. at Atmiya Institute of Technology and Science, Rajkot.
The entire talk has covered the following topics including the Demo of practical simulation.
- Moore’s Law
- Current technologies & Scaling of devices
- Fabrication process steps
- Design procedure at all the level of abstraction with full adder Example from functional to final mask layout
- ASIC Design flow
- Front-End flow
- Back-End flow
- Demo of CMOS Inverter Design with Tanner tool (S-edit, T-spice, W-edit) at transistor level and its simulation
Entire arrangement of this talk was taken care by Faculty Co-ordinators Mr. Shwetal pandya and student Co-ordinators Dipakkumar Timba and Vishalkumar Ranpariya, Jaivik Shah
